Loving my chickens

My dog attacked my chicken trying to play with her. He didn't put his teeth in her but grabed her skin and pulled it off her neck. She seems okay except the muscles on her neck are exposed! I have put neosporin on it and tried to keep it bandaged. Will the skin grow back? And can any infection cause her eggs to be unedible?

Jeepers, I'm not playing with your dog. I would worry more about an infection hurting the hen than her eggs. If he stressed her enough she may not lay for awhile. Please do not leave her outside until she heals some. Flies will lay eggs on her wound and the maggots are a horrible thing to deal with. Also the other chickens will peck at her wound and make it much worse. Chickens can be cannibalistic .
