If you do use Blu-Kote How long are you suppose to use it on a chicken? How can you tell when to stop using the product?

It would depend on the severity of the wound. In most cases I've found one or two applications a couple of days apart to be sufficient. When I use it, it isn't so much for the wound (though it does have some healing properties) as to keep the other birds from pecking at the wound. So I play it by ear. If the purple is fading but the other birds aren't paying any attention to it, no need to apply again.
