Hello all,

I'd like to introduce our rescued duckling, Luckee!!!!

(Here I am at about 3 or 4 days old (?)....this is the day I met my new family! - April 9th, 2012)

Birth mommy took her babies on a walk down a busy street and lost one through the grating over a storm drain.
S/he fell pretty far, but seemed perfectly fine.
Fortunately someone noticed and we managed to lift him/her out with a rake!!

Now I cant imagine what I ever did without this little one following me around all the time.

(Curled up on new momma's arm - 11 days old)

I love the way s/he stretches both legs out and just leaves them there!
....and when s/he crawls into my sleeve... :p

(16 days old)

(16 days old - April 21st - Loves the stuffed duck toy, which makes a great cuddle buddy at night)
:)

S/he is adored by many, and a very "Luckee" duckling, indeed!!
Here we are, both sets of mommies and daddies, watching his/her first bath...

(20 days old - Bathing in the presence of my fan club)

S/he is growing so FAST...those cats at the feed store mess with us less every time
we go in there!....and s/he's making friends with the bantam chickens. :)

(24 days old)

(Playing with the dog - 25 days old)

LOL....I LOVE IT!!!!

Anyone else have a newly rescued duckling?...or any advice for us?
This is our first duckling...until now, we've been a pet-chicken-type household. :p
(btw, we're pretty positive that Luckee is a Mallard...dont know the sex yet)

Thanks for stopping in!

Luckee is so cute! You did such a good thing rescuing this duckling. Good job!

I think he/she is a Mallard too, but I know very little about ducks just that he/she looks like Mallard ducklings I've seen.

I just got a rescue duckling a couple days ago! H/she can't be more than 3 days old now :) I looove the dog video!!! XD

Very cute! Luckee looks very happy laying all over you lol

With Luckee being a Mallard s/he will be able to fly. After s/he feathers out I would suggest clipping a wing so she can not fly off accidently.

Awwww....

They are the cutest things when they're so little!!! :)

I hope you get a girl!!!...we're crossing our fingers for a drake...
:p

I know!! I hope I get a girl too!! Friends want to but duck eggs from me :) And I already have a drake. He's the sweetest!!!! I'm thinking about getting a duckling friend for her..I'm thinking an Indian Runner!! They're so funny looking!!! lol

They grow so fast don't they? The only advice I would give is a companion for Luckee. I had just one duck and put an ad up here in the classifieds looking for a companion. Now I have 2... slightly different sizes and breeds. But they are happy together. Your duckling is beautiful.
