Too SWEET!!! My Silkie is on 4 eggs that are due to hatch this weekend.

She started with an assortment of 12 eggs...not sure why she kicked so many out. I can't wait to see what they are!

There were some from all our chickens, and some of her own.

Are they pure Cochin or mixed? I see the white one has a lot of feathers on its feet...what about the others?

today I noticed that one of the baby chicks had it's eye shut. I picked it up and there was a little dirt ball inthe corner and I gently scraped it away and its kept its eye close for the rest of the day.

any ideas??

Probably just irritated. If you have saline drops, like for contacts...not Visine! Then you can try and see if that helps. Just be very careful not to get them too wet or in their nostrils!
