Lucy

Lucy is my Rhode Island red and All of the sudden she became wobbly and we isolated her from the rest of our flock and she developed pneumonia from not being able to get up , and on top of that her leg is swollen and she can barely move it and she has trouble standing Up. She barely been eating or drinking and she's lost a lot of weight, She made it through last night. and we're goinng to have he euthanized tommorow.

Im sorry for you chicken and I had something like that happen to me with my chicken Golden we thought she fell and broke her leg.

Thanks for the support everyone.
We had the vet come out this morning and when she put the needle in Lucy got scared and banged her head on the table before she injected the medicine. So we think she died from that but we gave her the medcine just to make sure she wouldn't wake up.

Wow, too sad. I'm so sorry. Its a very kind and selfless act to put down any animal.

I am so very sad for you! My vet used a gas first to sedate her so she wouldn 't be scared or hurt when they did put the needle in...I was very thankful for him to do it this way.
