There’s got to be something else I can do for this girl. I’ve been treating this for over a week now with triple antibiotic ointment, and it’s not improving. I’ve checked her all over for any other issues and she come up clean.

Have you been flushing the eye several times a day?
It could be infection from a number of things. I would try an ophthalmic ointment like Terramycin (flush with saline 2-3 times a day and apply the ointment 2-3 times a day)and treat her with an antibiotic like Tylan to see if those help. You might be able to find Tylan50 at Tractor Supply, but most places are sold out. You can order Tylan powder at Jedds so there is that option too.

Tylan soluble - 1 tsp per gallon of water https://www.jedds.com/shop/tylan-soluble-100-g/

Thank you! I had no idea I could get any of these products without a prescription!

I ordered the ointment for starters. No I hadn’t been flushing her eye because the infection appears to be on the skin above her eye. I am not sure how successful I’d be at getting the tylan into he unless she were to be confined, and because she is so skittish, I think confining her would do more harm than good. I guess there is no way I could dilute the tylan and give to her orally?

The eye is very watery, I would flush it several times a day.
If you can find injectable Tylan50 at your feed store, then yes, you can just dose her orally 3 times a day and leave her with the others. Let me know if you can get that and I'll help you with the dosage.

I have never given an injection! I did see it at the feed store, but I’m completely intimidated. I know her eye looks watery in that photo, but it does not normally appear to be watery. I’m using the Terramycin now, this is day three of using it. She is eating, but I don’t think she’s eating as much as normal. Here is a poop photo from this morning. The urates appear yellowish. Is that a concern?

You can give the injectable Tylan50 orally - you don't have to stick her with a needle.
Has she ever been wormed or treated for Coccidiosis?

I didn’t know that! No, she hasn’t been wormed or treated for any diseases. She is eating better now, but still not as much as she used to. the lump has not changed in appearance, and she sits with her eye closed a lot.

I did make a vet appointment but it’s for next Thursday, best I could do. I’m not totally confident with the vet, but I don’t have any other vet options that I know of. I’m hoping she will get better and I don’t need the vet by then.

I’m going to try to get some today. Please let me know how to dose her. It isn’t worse, but it isn’t better either.

You were able to find Tylan50 locally? Maybe it's starting to show back up on shelves!
Dosage is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally 3 times a day for 5 days.

They had something at TsC the other day, I need to re-check what it was, but due to schedules I didn’t make it there today. I have been researching though, and I’m wondering if tyran has the right antibiotic in it for what is wrong with her. I appreciate the advice and when I get to TSC I’ll check and let you know.
