I have 2 baby call ducks that have lumps at the base of their beak, above their nostril. Has anyone encountered anything like this? I can try and take a photo definitely. Also noticing their eyes are always wet looking.. not sure if Call ducks are different or more susceptible to infections or sicknesses? I ALWAYS worry!!! Thanks :)

I don't have Calls, but ducks can get serious sinus infections. Do they have a way to rinse out their nares (nostrils) frequently? They can get stuff up in their sinuses if they cannot clear them with water.

@Amykins any insight?

They're ALWAYS in the water, I fill up their water probably 10 times a day, haha. Unfortunately the 2 that have the lumps are the two that had the bad feet, defects when they were hatched.

Poor littles.

The swelling and watery eyes are what made me think of sinus infection - and their immune systems may just be a bit weak right now, so they could have picked up an infection.

A good duck vet is best, and it is not always possible. I hope someone familiar with Calls checks in. Have you posted on Da Cute and Cuddly Call Duck Thread?

Yah I didn't know if call ducks were different. I'm going to attach a photo here. Of course I've just given her a bath but the lump here may be visible. Tough to get a good photo!

His one eye was swollen then turned into a huge red bubble... That went away, I used polysporin eye drops.. But the lump near his beak, is the same as one other one has, same spot.
