Lump, Might be Impacted crop, Help

How would I know if it was an impacted crop, and what would I do.

She has a lump, about halfway up her front, its offcenter and sitting out a fair bit, maybe 2 or 3 cms around.

Plz help, I'm hoping its not serious or I'll have to take her to the vet asap, and I dont think their open tomorrow

Chances are that she has just eaten. The best way to detect an impacted crop is to check her first thing in the morning before offering food. The crop should be mostly empty then. Also, watch for sour or foul smelling drainage from the beak, as this could be sour crop. But keep an eye on her today, and check her first thing in the morning before breakfast- she's probably just fine.

I just googled it and found the same information. Now I feel silly for panicking. Oh well, I would rather panic and have them alive

Will check again in the morning. If she's not okay then I'll panic.

You should have seen me on here when I first got my roo. I was a TOTAL overly concerned roo mommy! I freaked out over EVERYTHING!

Sometimes it's frustrating when something is different and there seems to be no answers. That being said, NEVER feel like you're posting a "dumb" question- there really is no such thing! In fact, there may be someone out there who needed an answer too! Best of luck to you and your girl- let us know how she is in the AM.
