Yesterday I saw one of my guinea hens, Nona, has a lump on the outside of her ankle on 1 leg. She is acting normal, eating drinking, poop (as far as I know, there has not been any abnormal looking poop in the coop). She is NOT limping at all. I finally was able to catch her today and look at it. I did not see anything open or super scabby. It is cool and soft to the touch. She didn't particularly act like it hurt but she also was pissed that I had her wrapped in a towel and focused on other things. What is this and what can I do for it?

It's unlikely to be anything sinister as long as she can walk on the foot and leg. I wouldn't do anything at this time other than note how large it is now, and check it periodically for size change. In addition, keep an eye on her in case she begins to favor the leg.

You will recognize that it's starting to hurt if she holds it up under her belly and if she pecks at it.

It's most likely a harmless cyst. I have a golf ball size cyst on the back of my neck that's been there for a couple of decades without causing any trouble. Chicken behavior is the most true indication of how a chicken is feeling. Pay attention to that.

No scabs. There is 1 scale that looks like dry skin flakey, but it hasnt changed.
It hasnt changed. Not any bigger, she isnt lame. It feels cool but soft. Other leg is totally fine and normal
I agree, I think I would leave it alone. She's not indicating pain and is active.
If it were me, I would make a mental note of it and just monitor her - if the lump changes, she starts limping, etc. then re-visit it.

Here is Nona, the bird in question, clearly giving me the stink eye. You can see the lump on the left leg. Thanks for input on the lump. I will continue to watch it for now
