Lump on baby chicks face

Last night before bed I noticed my batman chick had something on its face. I highly I was poo so I was going to wash it off but then I noticed it wasn't. It's a hard bump near its ear. It has a hole in the middle and when you squeeze it, bloody puss comes out. I separated it from the others. I also put tea tree oil on it but it's not getting better... What is it? How to I help my baby?

If the bump is an infection I would keep putting tea tree oil (or anti-bacterial ointment) on the bump.

It could be a cyst.
Cysts are caused when some foreign material has been located in the body by the immune system. The chicken’s body responds by sending white blood cells to attack it. A shield is formed around it and often there is infected material inside.
