Lump on chicken leg

She may have sprained the hock joint, but it also could be swollen due to an infection of the joint. How do her foot pads look—any black spots on them that could be bumblefoot?
I don’t think so. When I get home I will look

Usually with bacterial joint infection such as mycoplasma synovitis, it usually causes bilateral swelling of the joints. With only one side affected, it could be any bacteria that has entered the skin from a monor cut or bumblefoot, or injury to the joint. It would probably help to limit her activity and any jumping up or down from a roost or fence. Or consult with a vet or even a farm vet if you have other livestock, to see if they can xray it or try antibiotics.
