lump on silkie face

Not sure if this will help. you can see where the lump is though.

It is an infection of some sort,is it under both eyes? Does it feel hot to the touch? Not sure if you know that pus from an infection in chickens is a hard mass, not liquid like in other animals. Possible bug bites/scratch/peck or an allergic reaction to something environmental. If you see no improvement, you might want to give her some antibiotics to help clear this up. Definitely keep cleaning, apply an antibiotic ointment(nothing ending in "caine/cane toxic to chickens).

it is under both eyes and it is hard so maybe there is puss there. i don't think it would be an allergic reaction as she has been living in the same straw since we got her about three months ago. Do you think there would be any logic in lancing it and draining the puss out? i don't think there is because its so close to her eye and the lumps don't seem to be connected.
Thanks for the fact about puss in chickens - i had no idea that it was hard

Chickens have infraorbital sinuses, they are located in front and below eyes. It is possible she has an infection in one of these hollow cavities from debris becoming trapped.
