Lumps on quail feet?

I put my quail that needed foot soaking into a plastic carry case that is used for small birds or rodents. I then poured warm water into the cage and put them in. I have also put them in the bathtube with just enough water to cover their feet and they seem to relax and really like it, believe it or not.

The image of 12 bonkers flying bobwhites zooming all over my bathroom with poopy feet is not a lovely one! I'll try trays of warm water in their pen.

Checked on their feet the other day, and all the lumps are gone! I'm guessing being on wire helped the caked-on poop fall off naturally. Yay!
