It's true that the stress of full time college causes her anxiety and seems to feed her flare ups. She did well in two semesters at community college, and plans to take a light course load there again. It's just that right now she feels like a failure. We can tell her all we want that it doesn't matter, but it does to her. She has always been a motivated kid, and once she starts working again and takes a lessened course load I hope that things will straighten out. It doesn't help that her younger sister is being courted by multiple colleges.
I told her that I was asked to leave college after dropping from dean's list to failing courses. She replied, "Yeah, but we know why that was."
