I have been lurking around on this board for probably close to two years (off & on)
Husband finally let me get my own chickens

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Not really new. Husband has had fowl since he was 10. We have been married 17 years. He has had chickens for most of those years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Just me? LOL - 16. I don't try to claim 8 others

(3) What breeds do you have? Here goes: Silkies (most of my flock), 1 millie fleur chick, 2 buff orpington chicks, pr of SL wyandottes, pr of silver sebrights......Husband has 6 barred rock hens, 1 RIR or NH rooster, 1 days old quail....Daughter has 1 jersey giant chick. We did have 26 broilers...still do, just in the freezer now

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? found it on a website but IDK which one. Has been awhile

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? jewelry making, cooking, baking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Family is basically me, husband, daughter & FIL even though he does not live with us.
Other animals: 3 horses (one is ours, two belong to my FIL-technically)...many boer goats & boer crosses...5 dogs....4 mallard ducks.
My chickens are here at home....almost everything else is at the farm...2 of our boer kids are here - both bottlefed

My "job" is basically being the family CEO since 1997 (I was in my mid/late 20s). Including home/family management for 2 households. I do it all - chauffeur, nurse, secretary, maid, chef...I wear many hats.

If I disappear for any length of time more than 3 days, either I am extremely busy OR something has happened with my FIL and I will return
