Wanted to share some photos of my new Luzon bleeding hearts that are settling in. Still very nervous and I didn't want to disturb them, so they're low quality photos taken from pretty far away. They're in a 10x20 aviary in the yard, one half chicken wire reinforced with lower gauge mesh and a wooden base (to protect against any breakage or predators) and the other half will be done tomorrow.

I love bleeding hearts! What are they like to keep? Can they be kept with any other exotic doves or pigeons (I’ve heard they can be kept with diamonds but I’m curious)

They’re shy and require a lot of plant coverage in their aviary, but if you hand raise them they can be very tame and friendly. Mine will let me sit and watch them but it took a few weeks to get them to relax enough to not be spooked by me.

I’ve not personally had success keeping them with any other doves/pigeons as they are pretty aggressive, even to each other. The males are really territorial.
