Lysol spray in drop tray

Is it ok to lightly spray the drop tray with lysol? I clean it often but we also have cows near by, and their flies

I don't know for sure on that. I'm sure it would be fine to clean the tray with Lysol, but I'm not sure how the fumes would affect the quail if you just sprayed it on then put shavings over it.

Birds are often more strongly affected by fumes, I don’t know about quail per se, but my home borders a small swamp, so we have a ton of flies, and I use fly paper, and flycatcher bags, and they work pretty well. You can mix DE into litter so flies can’t lay eggs there. If you put sand in the trays it dries the poo pretty fast and you can just dump it thru a sifter. Personally I’d stay away from perfumy type sprays.
