M/F? 4 week Gold Laced Brahmas

I hatched these guys from eggs I got from a breeder's project pen. They are both such beautiful chicks, but I can't figure out the sex since they're not an official color pattern for brahmas and there aren't a lot of reference photos out there. I think I have one cockerel and one pullet.

The "cockerel" (A) is bolder and has a wider comb, and is a little slower feathering. He also has dark feathers coming in where the other has light feathers (shoulders and chest mainly)

"Pullet" (B) has a narrow comb, gold in the lacing isn't as bold or wide as the other. She's more timid and has a sweeter look about her.

Neither bird has any wattle development or any color on the comb yet.

Too young to sex accurately. Update in a few weeks. 6-8 weeks is a good age for gender/breed ID.

That being said, I agree with your gender guesses so far.

'A' could be a cockerel, but it's still, super early, especially for Brahmas, since they develop a lot slower. I would repost when they are closer to 8 weeks old.

Do they usually start to show comb color by 8 weeks or am I waiting for saddle feathers to show up?

Thanks, I'll post again in a few weeks! I've never had brahmas before so I didn't know if there were any early telltale signs or not
