So I bought a pair of female ducks from a hatchery. I paid more money to have two females. I’m starting to think one of them is a male though. They are 13 weeks old and for awhile I have noticed they have very different voices. One is very loud and the other sounds like she lost her voice (but always sounded like this). This is the best video I could get today because it’s pouring buckets. Any ideas? Unfortunately if one is a male I will have to get rid of them due to the fact that they free range in a small fenced in back yard with my 8 pullets :(

I should add there has been no significant or even noticeable size difference. We got them at 2 days old and they’ve always been basically the same exact size.

Well I hear loud quacking couldn't tell if it was coming out of both of them though.

Sure are pretty.

Just one, if you listen carefully you can hear the one softer/squeakier quack. I will try to get a better video tomorrow when the rain subsides. It’s hard to notice because loud quacker frowns out the soft quacker

Very true. any chance of getting a few more females so the drake if that is what it is would have enough girls to keep him busy? I have 2 drakes in a fenced in property with 24 hens and they have their own females an have never messed with the hens.

Unfortunately no, we already have more than we are suppose to :( I’m hoping I’m wrong and they are both females.

Plus the ducks already pick on the chickens pretty bad. Since we only have 8 chickens I’d be scared if we added more ducks that they’d take over lol.
