Mabel's Legacy-BABY PICTURES!!!!

I've never candled sideways like that. I always shine the light through the air cell, from the top, and it's pretty easy to see veining just below the air cell.

You're probably right about the clears. By Day 12, it should be pretty much unmistakable.

I'm no expert, but here goes my guess.

# 2 looks clear

# 4 not sure

# 5 Maybe something.

# 13 Maybe something

# 15 I'd ? that one, and keep an eye on it.

The rest leave, they look good.

I'm no expert either, but I think that you hit them right on with your decisions. However, with the ones that seem "clear" I would wait--I think most on here candle on day 14 for their 'final answer'.

But I loved seeing that definite baby!! So exciting! You have to be absolutely tickled with that little one!!

Day 13, Nothing remarkable happened here.

Pretty down that I'm not a very good incubatress! Most think I've only got one baby in there

So to chronicle my feelings and to further think about my future in incubating, I had started another thread today about which incubator....AH am i absolutely nutz. First of all I am so positively sure that my DH will not go along with it. Second...hmmm....and the 2nd reason is.....hmmm....see that's the problem I can't come up with any other reasons why not to buy either a SURO 20 or a Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance?????

Knowing that this group is just a bunch of loving enablers, I know I probably won't get a fair pro and con assessment.

Ok so having a cocktail now waiting for DH to come out to the Chicken TV patio, and then I'll spring it on him!

But if I only have one hatch, looks like the SLW he/she can't be alone, so instead of putting some eggs in the bator from GABBARD Farms (seems like people love Julies eggs) (& I picked out some very cool breeds) that I must go get he/she a couple of playmates.....argh

What do you guys think about this..

So no one really out there tonight. DH isn't thrilled with incubator idea. Says I have to finish my taxes first. It's not really about money, what's the deal...sorry just venting some chicken frustration....

Why in the world am I not completely satisfied with my darling 10 girls...

Why are there so many breeds of chickens????

Hi Cheryl, I know what you mean about all the different breeds of chickens. I notice that you had some speckled sussex, silver laced wyandottes and sicilian eggs. I bought my chicks, 2 gold laced wyandottes, 2 speckled sussexes (hopefully) and 1 sicilian buttercup. In fact they are 4 weeks old today!!

You know, be patient with the eggs. They might still surprise you.
