Okay I've finally got some pics for you all! It's nothing fancy, just a bucket with the bottom cut out of it and then covered with chicken wire. I have an old roof shingle that fell off the roof as a lid.
My next one will be a bigger bucket as it works REALLY well. But probably no more than a 5 gallon bucket because I'm a sissy girl and I can't imagine dealing with the weight of it. I also have a rubber bucket underneath so that it will catch the maggots. The chickens have learned to jump into the bucket and eat all the maggots. I have the roof shingle lid to keep the crows from stealing from the bucket, but I also found it worked great for keeping moisture in. I live in the desert with 0% humidity and the "chum" would just mummify before I put the lid on.
