Maggots eating newborn rabbits

they do work quite well and can be hung most anywhere now with rabbit maybe away from where they could chew

Hmm. That's very odd. I live where the flies are horrendous and that's never happened to me. I do think that unless the doe was absolutely FILTHY when she had the kits, odds are they died and were colonized. Also this is horrible but some rabbits will eat their young. Has this doe kindled before?

Edit: BEAUTIFUL REW doe! Definitely not the problem then.

Oh! In the meantime (until you can get the fly bags), keep a fan on the cage. Flies will mostly stay away if the air is moving. Also look into the ranch fly trap. It's worked for me. Catches the suckers by the thousands.

They were super clean and I have a few. Another rabbit gave birth a week before and she neglected hers and they died but they didn’t have any. Seriously the night before they were ok and the next morning were skeletons. I’d show pics but I think people would be grossed out.
