Maggots in a wound... I need some advice

Maggots only eat dead first, let them be. Hdck, people use them now for treatment, there's not a bad thing unless on a dead carcass stinking up yard, but a few on the bird will help him, don't kill them. Once nothing dead left, they'll disappear,

While maggots are used to help treat people - this is in a well controlled environment.
If maggots have infested a wound on a chicken, it can be detrimental. The tissue damage they cause is extensive - always best to get all the maggot off and keep the wound clean and treated.
