It's surprisingly challenging to keep them all straight! You're doing great! Another hatch or two and you'll have your tracking system all worked out. If not, it just means you need to do more hatches.

My nesting boxes are all inside, I have one coop with pullets who prefer roosting on top of thr boxes rather than on the roosting but I don't mind, just another spot to clean.View attachment 3747687View attachment 3747688View attachment 3747689 My husband and brother-in-law built this coop for when Mr. Rooster comes for a visit. Question is, shouldn't the nesting boxes be on the outside? So when they roost at night, they're not in the nesting boxes? they are still protected out in the yard. Nesting boxes are next to the roost? What do you think?
