Wait to remove them until they are completely dry. It usually takes 12 to 24 hours to dry off in the machine. You don't want them to chill.

When you take them out of the bator, before putting them down in the brooder, dip their beaks quickly in the water and set them down in front of the water. This helps them not only learn where the water is but they need to drink before eating to help prevent pasty butt.

Lay down a paper towel in front of the feeder and sprinkle chick feed on it, tap with your finger so they know where the food is. After a few days you can remove the paper towel.

Thermometer on the floor of the brooder under the heat source should be read about 88 starting temp.
