My Wyandotte ladies started at 22 weeks so you’re almost there. Hopefully winter won’t dissuade them!
My two Jersey Giants surprised me by laying at 21 weeks and I was definitely expecting them to hold out for spring! We don’t even eat their eggs fast enough and I just like seeing what colours they come up with lol

I got my 1st chickens a few years ago & I am hooked!
I did get a few different breeds, wasn't the plan, I just visited someone to get a couple of hens & chicken math happened. Lol

Anyway, my 1st Wyandotte Rooster is a handsome Silver Laced, and I also got 3 Wyandotte hens, but wasn't sure what colors they'd grow up to be.

They ended up being a Blue Lace, & 2 Ivory color, 1 has a few feathers with some Red.

It was interesting hatching out 4 for their eggs...I had no idea what colors the chicks would be. I am just now trying to learn the genetics. I was told the 4 I hatched out have silver base, which makes sense since papa is Silver Laced.

My Wyandottes are not as friendly as my sweetest breeds (Buff Orpington, ISA Brown, Red Star, Comet & Ameracauna are love bugs!) but they know me and let me scoop them up for hugs & sit on my lap when I check them over. They've never even tried to spur or bite. They do not like strangers at all, though. They're quiet mostly, but if a stranger or a fox is seen, they can become very vocal. I love the Roo's mellow tone crow, Not ear piercing loud like my Barred Rock.

Here's my Silver Laced boy, Harley.
His original 3 hens & then pics of their offspring.

I love the chunkiness of Wyandottes, their fluffy feathers, just gotta hug them daily. 🤗

Can you tell me what type of rooster is in the last picture? I have one just like him and I've tried to find out what he is for the longest time?
