Where I am we are very close to the neighbors. keeping the peace because we all spend so much time outside is of utmost importance. I am so friendly with the wife I am literally doing this for her. NOT the hubby . He must be tormenting her.
My dh said keep them and drive them nuts. BUT....if they make a nuscience complaint my birds all have to go or I will be fined. I had to do this on my terms in my own way.

Now what I have done is kept a few 12 day old chicks I hatched out. Bantams/smaller breeds in hopes of having just 3 hens for myself to keep down the road. They will be inside for a while then placed in a new, out of the way spot where they won't be bothersome to that neighbor. My coop will be refinished and done better as well. The other connecting yards are all nice neighbors....and on board ..... love my birds. they have been very sympathetic and sweet. There are just some stinkers in this world and we can't help that. I needed to be the adult and be reasonable because I'd be the one to pay. He's an A#$.......but she has to live with him not me. I am outta here/moving in another 1 to 1 1/2 years . Then I will be in my GLORY and raising what i want and as many as I choose to.:<)

Maggie,
I must say you are a much better person than I. I would not be as compassionate and "adult" as you. Sounds like you have your head on straight; that's a rarity in this day and time. When you get ready to move .... consider Arkansas!

I'd love to have you for a neighbor and I'll even set you up with some of NY's offspring!

Hey Maggie.... lookie, lookie.... New York is growing up!! He/She is getting more beautiful every day and has completely outgrown the silkie chicks she has lived with since birth. You'll also note... NY has a tail! It's actually starting to look a little "silkish".

Maggie,

I know Jackson and his silkie harem of girls miss you very much as well as all your special treats and special attention. They send their love and Jackson his special non-crowing noise "hiccuugheep".

Now that your group is back here at Macopin Farm if anyone wants their eggs let me know. I will do a separate post when I have time.

The house next to me 1.1 acres is for sale, he he, I know you want NY.

Heather, does Sophie have little tuffts coming out of each little cheek area?????
That would be very exciting if so. Then she is showing the aracuana trait!!!

Well Sophie is definitely double tufted! So very cute! Thanks for putting her pics up. How old is she? Oh and Helen says hi when she isn't setting on eggs with Blue Bell.

WOW! They come out differently then! Some tufted....some feathered legs.......some crested.......all so far seem to have 5 toes and black skin/beeks/eyes etc.
How interesting!
Some with tails and some rumpless or patially tailed!

Keep the pics coming ladies.:<))
