Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Some people do it like this (so do I)
40 eggs .... 20 good eggs (20 clear) = 50% fertility rate
20 good eggs with 10 hatch = 50% hatch rate

Yes this. That is what I follow as well.

I WANT AN EMU!!!

For Mahonri hatches, we write down what you set, and then we take the number you hatch and put it over the number you set to get a percentage.

It's the way we did it for NYD. That's how we figured the percentage.

on the chart we had some write down how many went to lockdown, but that didn't count as their final percentage.

You do it right.

Wish all my kids were home.... I'm ready to hit the sac!

Rehomed a goodly number of chickens today. The North Lawn is clear... maybe grass will grow back again.

I only have three roos left to rehome. 1 Icelandic, 1 BCM and 1 FBCM.
Then as the pullets grow I will put them into their appropriate pen...

Of course then I'm hatching more!!! May be selling a few of my lazy hens and I'm hoping for a good Easter Hatch.

Your lawn. We turned onto our street today and notice a few more people had goats in their yard. Ours is currently the only 2.5 acres that is weed free. I realized we kinda stick out!!!!

Well it seems I have 2 more incubators! My chickens are going broody right and left. I have had one that has been utterly determined for quite some time, so I broke down and gave her 6 duck eggs. I have another that jus started and if she is still going strong I will give her some eggs this week. Might as well put them to good use right?

We went to Vegas today. DH's big interview seemed to go pretty well. So fingers crossed on that. The kids and I walked all over the place and looked at everything. I am tired and I have decided the Vegas strip is not for me.

I may be flying out to Oregon to be with my Dad. Things are much worse than we thought. It is not the flu it is congestive heart failure. He is also bleeding internally and they don't know why. He was very dehydrated when he went by ambulance to the hospital. He also only had 50% of the blood in his system that he should have. They have given him a transfusion. He goes in for an aniogram (sp?) in the morning. He had a mild to moderate heart attack and has continued to have tiny ones while in the hospital. His heart is only functioning at 15% of what it should be. We did finally get a hold of my step mom. She is on her way home tomorrow. I am so worried. I love him so much.

Tricia. Your dad sounds like he is in extremely serious condition. I'd get to Oregon asap.

prayers headed your way.
