You may have a "mottled" ..... either Lavender or black!
The down will be yellow and you will see a little bit of black or a little bit of Lavender.

I have a pic, will be back in a minute.

Yup! You have a mottled. Here is an old picture of mine....
This is what Jody said about it.....
This mottling throwback came from some of the original crosses in the lavender project. We have since culled them out of our program and have not gotten any more in our recent breedings. You would not get a black mottled from a lav to lav breeding. These black mottled will start feathering in dalmation looking, but should finish almost completely black with some minute white feather tips. When you cross them to each other, they breed true. That is as far as I took them to confirm what they were. If the mottled carry the lav gene, it would act the same as regular lav. Once 2 copies are matched, you would get lav mottled.

NO! If you can get more, you can make mottleds that breed true! Well, if that is what you want to do!

Awhile back Sarah (scbatz33)was looking for some Lavender mottled. I don't have any left. I sold them all and the parent stock, too. Now I kinda wish I had some!

I can also add 6 if you would like that gets it to 18 I believe

I'll try to keep up with it.
So we have for the
Hard Luck Let's Give 'em Another Chance prize we have:

crystalcreek - 6+ lav/split lav ameraucana hatching eggs
wolftracks....yours are which breeds???? I forget
lamike...what about you?

Anyone else?

Just got home a little over an hour ago. Been gone since morning.

OK I guess it can be a combination or one breed, depending on how the girls cooperate.

I have BCMs - Three separate flock but the two laying are Bev Davis and the other is Prestley/Valentine Have some in the bator and one pipped now.
or
Olive Eggers - Blue AM over one Bev Davis hen and one Prestley/Valentine hen
or
EEs- One hen lays green and the other lays pink. Right now they are in with a BCM roo.

or a combination of all three

Thanks again, I guess I will have to do a search and get the story on them.

Has anyone ever hatched turkey and duck eggs with the chicken egg turner for the Genesis? I've set mine in them today. If you set them in everyother hole when they turn the don't overcroud themselves and rest agains the next tray but don't fall out
