I am home from my little trip to the El Dorado foothills to visit HHandbasket and Farmer Lew in their new digs. I have location envy. BAD. Their small flock is very happy and they have their first, adult (not chick) rooster. Well, he's six months old, but he's already a GREAT roo! His name is Rico Suave. And, boy, is he swah-vay! I also brought home their Light Brahma hen which was originally my former Light Brahma pullet. She's now in a segregation coop by herself before reintroducing her to my huge flock.

I'm going to have to check out chicken-keeping regulations for Amador and El Dorado counties, now. I'd give my eye-teeth to live up there in the foothills. I do not want to wait until I retire, but it would be a significant "commute" to come to work each day.

NoseyChicken, I am horrified at the behavior of that jerk in the parking lot!!!!

LareePQG, your photograph is simply stunning. WOW.

Everybody else: I've mined the posts for all the license plate entries (31 of them so far) and the couple of crowing rooster entries. It may be tomorrow evening before I get them posted to their respective entry pages, but don't despair - I'll get them displayed, honest!

NoseyChickens so sorry about what happened to your daughter! I can't understand why the bases have no cameras. You'd think if they were anywhere they would be on base. And I never see them patroled. Only guards are at the gate. What's up with that??? I've noticed that when I go to Travis AFB. When I was a little girl in Alameda, there were patrols all over.

Laree that picture is gorgeous!

You know how everyone has that story of the fish that got away?

Not me.

I have the story of the menfolk who caught fish after fish long into the night, after several jack & coke's. Then there is the story about the 15+ pound carp they caught at 11:45, and were SO excited about it, they ran up to the tent, opened it up, leaned in to show me....

....and prompty dropped the carp onto me and the sleeping kiddos.

There was flopping, and yelling, and tipsy giggling.

The carp survived, the kids were fishy, but no one was harmed in the making of this fish tale.

Said carp was released the next morning, after posing for this shot:

I just did my 14 day candling all 38 BSL's seem to be developing normaly so I'm hoping for a very high percentage hatch rate in about 144 to 168 hrs.

Happy Easter hatching everbody

Jeff

Great memories!! One of our favorite camping trips was horrible, we got stuck in the mud, were wet, cold & muddy, never made it to the campground, camped right in the middle of the road in the tent trailer.. flagged down some 4 wheelers to help us get out the next morning.. Still we laugh and remember our mud camp!!

Thats the scary part. She isnt even that small. She's almost 11 years old and this was not a big car. She was walking right next to her 12 year old sister. Normally I make them walk next to or in front of me because I'm paranoid and ridiculously over protective. Now I don't feel so crazy for being that way.

Oh Wow! That means the idiot who backed up could of saw them in the rear view mirror??

That totally changes how scary that is, because that means the driver didn't even look!!! I was totally assuming they were little and no one could of saw them there.
