I want to make a joke, but since I personally know the frustration of setting nonfertile eggs over, and over, and over again....................

SIX MONTHS ! ! ! ! I have been setting those eggs for 6 months! Not one single fertile egg!

Tomorrow is the day. I am gonna do it. I am gonna try artificial insemination.

Get good at it and I'll bring you 2 Dark Cornish roos that need "given a hand" so to speak.

I have watched the video a few times, and I have the equipment needed. I think I can do it. I HOPE I can do it!

WELL, what can I do? I mean, I have these Icelandic eggs sitting here, and really they are just sitting here aging. My frig is FULL of eggs (I am talking 20 dozen at least), so I do not need any more to eat. Silkie eggs sitting here, too....... hmmmm.....

No doubt I HAVE to set the 16 New Hampshire eggs I have, and the 24 Barred Rock eggs, too. BUT, I still have all those other open slots. It just looks so empty.

thinking I could try the dang Orps again. I have 43 of those. They have been non fertile for 6 months, so should I even try????

Maybe try setting some of those Coronation Sussex?

I already put their eggs in the refrigerator. I could experiment with refrigerated eggs though! hahahaha

Love living in the California foothills!!!! I'm 3 hours south of you though.

You must be about 3 hours north of me. I am in Hesperia CA. Or Hysteria. Whatever works.

Hysteria, sounds good to me!

I don't think I've ever been on that stretch of the 15-- have gone through Barstow quite a few times, but have never dropped down there. Last time I looked up my horse's sire, he lived in the Victorville area, lol, just a small piece of trivia. Ummm, I suspect it would take me at least 4 hours to get to you, cuz I'd have to drop down to the 99 and then come down. If there was a backroad through Kings Canyon Nat'l Park to the 395, maybe we could do it 3 hours.

I'm in Squaw Valley (not the ski resort, but the one that is above Fresno/Visalia and below Kings Canyon NP.)

I have 2 turkeys hatched, 1 is zipped and poised to kick the door open. I have another pipped, but it's another big square hole in the side with no zip action. I will probably have to give a little assistance.. We'll see...

I'm going to splint the foot on the first one I helped, to straighten out it's toe.

Well, so far nothing yet on my eggs. . . But, I'm not even there yet.

I should expect at least a pip tomorrow though.

My rocker must have been getting into position.

Went to my grandsons game tonight and added water when I got back. Didn't really need much, but I added.

Long day tomorrow. I'm supposed to pick up one or two Lionhead bucks. Hope that works out. I have does I want to breed to and looks like Wascal may be a she and not a he. Figures. Hopefully I'll be able to get my two older girls to give me some cute tiny bunnies.

I got a flat egg today. I have a BCM that lays a huge egg. Not as dark as I'd like, but huge. Today she went into a nesting box that's sitting in the run that flooded during all the rain. I haven't cleaned it out yet and was going to today, but didn't get to it.

Anyway she got in and out of the box probably 8 times. I went back later to see if there was an egg in the box and she had laid on the ground. The egg is huge, but it has 2 flat sides. This same hen will sit in the boxes for ever and then turn and lay and the eggs drop on the ground. This one was about 2 feet away, so she either got out and laid it on the ground or that sucker shot out and dropped flat.
