Thanks, but they were on day 15... Unplugged for 5 hours.

Don't give up on them yet. I did that myself, unpluged wrong bator at day 13 and did not realize it until 12 hrs later. I hatched 31 out of the bator last weekend. lost 5 that quit. They started hatching about 8 hrs later. I have a friend that set 48- 24 days ago. The bator quit twice . blew fuses ect, got a differnt bator and took a couple days to get her regulated(I am not a fan of the Brower Top Hatch, boy an I glad I did not buy one of those). We candle tonight and they should go tommmorow or next day. So They are pretty tought. I myself in hatching right now. I have had a rough day, My bator spiked to 113 at 7 days with a bad storm. My controller got "stuck' not quit on not quite off. I shut it off and reset it. I don't think the eggs were that hot yet, but they were pretty warm. The first chicks out I had to about peel out, at the normal 58 to 60 humidity that I hacth at. I have it up to about 68 percent in there now, have 13 out some more piping right along. I am glad to get a few, did not want to win the hard luck award in the hatch. Just relax and give them a couple days.

I had that with my first ones today. I had issues early in incubation, but I just dabed warm water on them as I rubbed the membrane and goo off. Then put them back in my hatcher wet. I figure that they come out normally wet and its 99 in there so they won't chill, They are all fluffed up tonight. look fine.

I've skimmed a lot to catch up.........................

for those who had hatch catastrophies and not so good ones also.
Nearly everything that hatched for me after the first few on Friday had to be helped, but all I helped made it, leaving me 18 live out of the 30 going to lockdown. I pipped a few holes in some of the remaining unpipped eggs this afternoon, finding sticky, drowned chicks till I hit a bleeder. It looked underdeveloped but I put it back in with the rest of the eggs and left them running while I went to town to shop. It was dead when I came home; and when examined it looked to be several days behind the others for some reason. The other eggs had done nothing for several hours. I turned off the bator off, took some pics of some of my survivors, and resumed eggtopsies of the unpipped. Next to last egg, a Sussex, actually had a tiny pip where it could not be seen in the egg carton. I opened the pip a bit farther...................... crap.............. there's a beak moving. I plugged the cold bator back in and I'm warming the chick up for awhile before trying to help it out. It probably can't live, but I owe it a chance. Next time I'm looking for hidden pips, and float testing every egg, before unplugging the bator or doing eggtopsies.

My update:

27 eggs set on April 2 at 10:00 p.m. 9 Icelandic and 18 Auburn Java or AJ/SLW-all my own eggs layed within the week before the hatch
Candled Tuesday night in preparation for lockdown on Wednesday. Removed 2 Java and 1 Icelandic.
This evening-7 of the 8 Icelandics have hatched-one with no pip in bator still.
12 of the Java have hatched-two with no pip in bator, two with some pipping, in bator
No sounds coming from any of the eggs remaining. We'll see in the morning.

My first time incubating was a great experience.
I'll be posting my cutest chick photo tomorrow, after I take one!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Steve when I do my final eggtopsies I hope to find a live one in there hanging on. Today I found 3 dead in the shell and I did find one alive, so I helped it. So don't feel bad, if others died in the shell that one may of been stuck after it pipped and couldn't go any further. I think if you would of float tested that one, that water may of got in the pip and did it more harm than good, so I think it is good you found it. I hope it makes it.

Thank You
It was the only survivor of my son burning a hole in my Lil' Giant bator. So guessing its name will be Toasty ..........

Or Oatmeal being that's what my son was cooking, but we are leaning towards Toasty
