We are required to get 24 hours a year and we apply for relicensing every 3 years. I've got to sit down next week and make certain I have enough. I always get the 18 at the convention every year so I hope I don't have to do three more days worth of CEUs before June.
Thanks
Right now I have 11 Cockoo Marans under a broody hen and 63 divided between 3 bators. Of the 63, 27 are French Black Marans, 12 Barred Rocks, 16 Easter Eggers and 8 Cockoo Marans
Have another hen trying to go broody, if she stays this way till Saturday, she will be rewarded with a dozen Cockoo Marans.
My DW
just found out tonight that I have 140 chicks coming from Schlech Hatchery in Iowa due to be here 3-31 and SHE IS NOT HAPPY with me
. I tried to explain chicken math to her and I think I just dug my grave a little deeper. Thank goodness Penny, my chicken guard dog, a Great Pyrenees has a 3 ft by 6 ft dog house.
She reads her books and I have my chickens.
Just think we started out 16 months ago with 11 hens and 1 roo. Now with what is hatching and what is coming I should be around 300.
Thank goodness for Craigs List and the 3 flea markets that are less than an hour from the house.
Needless to say, most of what I have now will be sold off as the new ones approach laying age.
Happy hatching everyone
PS: Still trying to catch up, have read the first 41 pages so maybe by easter I will get the whole thread read.
I'm In! Will Set Multitudes Of Misc Gamebird Eggs, Chicken Eggs, Possibly Waterfowl And Turkey,, Who Knows Maybe I Can Show Shelley How To Max Out A Brinsea Oct 20 With 200+ Quail Eggs
I am super excited! I have been collecting for a few days and tomorrow I am going to set 6 polish, 5 cochin, and 8 white ameraucanas from my own flock. Plus whatever is laid tomorrow. Just enough time to get them in and out before we set for the Easter hatch. The new runs for my LF buff cochins (Jethro and Dixie), millie fluer cochins, coronation sussex and a broody/grow out run and coop will be going up this week. Good thing DS is coming home on leave next week, I'm going to need the extra man power. LOL! 8 more days until he is home! WHOOT!!!!! i miss that kid!
I do it all too frequently; but this time turning the calender over and getting a week ahead of myself had me worried my next set was going to crowd the Easter set. I finally figured out this is the first week of March; the eggs I'm waiting for are not going to make me late.
I finally tracked them to Lake Forest [near Chicago], I'm just a couple miles from IA, and they're coming from somewhere in IA....................................... to a sorting station on the opposite side of IL.......................... and then [hopefully] back to me.
