OK so today was the day to set for Duck and turkey eggs so I DID

I've set 5 duck eggs (runner and runnerXcayuga) along with 13 turkey eggs (Burbon red and Burbon redXroyal palm)

I was right about the dust bath. It only took them about an hour and then they were all in it. They just keep me laughing!

Aussieheelr, this is totally off topic, but my husband and I love cattle dogs. Do you happen to have a picture of your pup that you would share?

(Edited to add: Talli, in my avatar, is from the SPCA, so we have no idea if she's purebred, but she is the best cat-herder this side of the Rockies. [At least in my opinion.

] My husband's family used to breed heelers when he was growing up, so, in his mind, we could have nothing else.)

I'm not home to set anything today, but I'm sure to be setting tomorrow. Pekin/Buff cross duck eggs from Hermin and the two Daisies and possibly some late goose eggs from Mom's tufted pilgrim and tufted buff geese.

I'll be setting a few Sumatra and Peepers eggs for the chicken date as well.

I just hate it when it is rainy and muddy. I only have half of my flocked trained to wipe their feet before entering the nest. The other half walk all over the eggs in the nest and muddy them up.

Once again, I'm just praying I can hatch out 40 or more. I think my average using both bators is 42 over the past two years.

I imagine I made revolutionmama some $$ today because I bid on three of her auctions... one I got beat on in the very last minute... but it's just as well as I have faith I'll get some surprises and perhaps some extras.
