CR, I think it was SteveH who mentioned using "plastic canvas". It's a craft item found in Hobby Lobby or Michael's around here. It's plastic and you can connect the parts, whatever size fits your bator, with zip ties. Someone else, I think maybe CrystalCreek, uses the large suet cages/baskets that you can purchase at Lowes, Home Depot or any place that carries bird feeding supplies. These may be good alternatives for you instead of the hardward cloth.

Now there is a use for all the old plastic canvas I have stashed in the craft closet!

Got some Blue/Splash Ameraucanas carrying the silkie gene (they're calling them "fuzzy Ameraucanas") coming for the easter hatch, man I would have begged for some PAINTS if I knew about them. Drooo-ooool.
Sigh, love my Ameraucanas.

NO COMPLAINING ABOUT INCUBATION SPACE!!!!
It makes everyone go broody. I have 2 broody Cochins, a broody d'Uccle, a Silkie, an Isabel F1, and a Chantecler...possibly 2.
Sometimes we know not what we ask. I'll be parking tons of eggs under feathered incubators!!!
If only most of them weren't pint-sized!
Tomorrow or Weds I'll have Orps from Nancy, Heritage RIR for a friend, and I'll be loading all of my Orps in, as well. I may run one more auction on the Orps just to let a few more out in the world....

Sounds a lot easier to work with. Plus you you can bleach it when you clean it. Grea idea.

Well folks, I am in a pickle. A big FAT pickle. I have silkies hatching in a few days. However the test hatch I have in bator includes DUCKS. They are not due for another week from Thursday. And I have eggs in the mail for the Easter hatch. 24 in the mail. My bator holds 24. Pickle.

Well, chalk me up for joining in on the Easter hatch as I will be setting at least 32 BSL eggs on the 2nd of April. Ive been wondering if I would be able to participate in this hatch so thanks to me for breaking down and buying a new inubator (one that my turner would fit in without having to leave out eggs to clear all the contraptions hanging down in ol' faithful) I can now have an up-to-date "bator" and use ol' faithful for a hatcher only now and give her and me a break for a while,
