Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Quote:
Had something similar from mid-December to the end of Feb. Had to get some Avalox, ($200 antibiotic that the ins. only covered $50)
Mostly it took rest and SLEEP.

So you two Western Illinois folks need to go to bed and stay there!

ETA: didn't sound right.... to your own respective beds...

Funniest pic...I post three, but only the top one i'm entering. It was a hard choice.

Chicken bliss...you know this is how you feel when your start to hatch.

Chicken nuggets...mmmmmm.

You're mom is my mom too? Whats up with that?

SteveH and Yotetrapper I hope you will both be feeling better. My 8 yr old DD had some horrible respitory buiness for nearly 3 months before it finally cleared up after a series of steroids and really strong anitbiotics. Very scarey!

Went into lock down with 4 bantam poish eggs and I have 3 duck eggs under a broody due on Friday. Also I entered my first poultry show that is this weekend down in Ventura. I entered my 2 male runner ducks. I have no idea what I'm doing, so this should be interesting. It is also drill weekend for DH so he will not be coming with me. And I HATE driving.

My Step MOm is coming out at the end of the month for Spring Break. We are going up to Big Bear (we have never been!) during the week and then heading out to the Poppy Fileds in Lancaster on my Dad's birthday. They were supposed to come together to see the poppies this year. I am glad she will be with us. She didnt want to be alone on his birthday. He would have been 69 this year. I miss my Dad so much.

Ruh Roh. Just walked by the bator and found a surprise chick.

He popped out of an egg the DH had mistakingly taken from a super-broody. HDH didnt tell me the broody had eggs under her until hours later, after we went to bed. I bolted up and sorted through the egg basket to see if any of them were still warm. I stuck in in the bator with the hope it would be viable.

I guess it was.

Baby was dried off and rested. He's been rocking and rolling this whole time--since egg batch #1 doesn't go into lockdown until tomorrow.

WHOOPSIES!

Anyway, I went and stuck him under Dozer: Super-broody Numero Uno. She's been kicking around going broody for a few days now. I'll leave her alone until tonight, and move her and chickie into the quarantine cage so they are out of everyone's way.
