Just got my gallbladder out. I am miserable!! I had no idea surgery would be this hard. But my dearest DH is kind enought to feed and water my chicks and turn my eggs on top of taking care of the kids. I'm not supposed to lift 20 lbs or more for 5-6 weeks and my son is 20 lbs. And i'm not supposed to drive for 2 weeks. crazy.

OUCH! I am sorry you are in pain - and sorry you cannot pick up your child. That sounds sooo difficult. Hope you are feeling better soon and released to full parent duties

Got my eggs set! 19 Sumatra eggs(4 under the broody hen) and 13 Buff/Pekin duck eggs. All due to hatch on Easter. I have a broody with 4 eggs under her and I will probably give her more. It's Lauretta, my Sumatra hen!

It's been crazy around here and I have no internet at the house, so here I am at the library today.

My heat lamp died and I lost 4 sumatra chicks last night.

My friend is home, sleeping in front of the TV set, dozing, actually. All went very well. She already couldn't recall what happened just as they started, or the two repetitions of the After Care instructions. Now we're in the fun stage of trying not to laugh about the post-procedural release of gas. I think I may start making competing, mouth farty sounds, just to help her stop feeling self-conscious. After all, it's not her own production, it's the stuff they used to inflate...things.

I will discuss the Great Chicken Plan with her a bit later this evening; SCG, thank you for the info about your dad because I will use that as ammunition.
