Buenos Dias BYC!

My children woke up happy, breakfast was great, I have coffee in hand and all your good conversation to keep me company. It doesn't get much better.

Laree - hope your turkey gets better soon. I'd go for soft food too, you got any chick crumb to mix with warm water for him? The chick stuff usually has some medicated ingredients too - will help him stave off coccidiosis etc, as he'll be rpone to picking up bugs and stuff being under the weather. Poor thing. Was visiting a friend on Sunday and her turkey stag was goodliegoodlieing at us too, made me laugh my socks off. Don't want one, though, even if he was a tremendous specimen!

Well I am having a totally crap day at work, can someone make me laugh, PLEASE?! Dealing with dippy idiots today, and I have had ENOUGH.

I hear you. I work on Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah. We have a saying, there is the right way, there is the wrong way and there is the Dug Way. This has got to be the most backwater place I have ever worked. Change is a four letter word in the eyes of the people who have been here for like FOREVER. It is like moving into a town that has like 300 people living in it in Maine. You will always be the outsider until you have been there for generations.

I set my eggs in my incubator on the second, then yesterday one of my splash hens finally goes broody... She's acted like she might before by sitting on eggs for eight hours or so then getting up and forgetting about it, so I am skeptical. She's been immovable this time since yesterday, and she is "hissing", which is different. How long should I wait before trusting her to finish out the eggs, if ever? Have any of you started eggs in a bator then put them under a broody?

This is a good morning. I've decided to make this my last day of house rest. Aside from chores [and an absolutely necessary trip after groceries, dog food, and the airconditioner], I've sat inside for over a week. I'm better, but still not free of this stubborn bug. Perhaps fresh air and sunshine will finish it off.

I drank some medicinal tea yesterday............................. great stuff..................... the cough left and the bronchial tubes and even the sinus dried up for the first time in what seems like forever.

But last night I went through over two rolls of toilet paper waiting for the immodium a-d to kick in

; the tea kept coming to mind as I listened to my already sore gut gurgle and growl betwen explosions. I used nutra-sweet in the tea, and too much of it has done that to me before. I had also nuked a couple of frozen burritos, didn't get them completely heated, so they may have been the problem instead.

I had to start this day with more immodium; but actually feeling much better than I did a week ago, so I should stop complaining LOL I was told after my last heart attack to get a flu shot every year, blew it off last fall, so have myself to blame for this. On the other hand, my neighbor got his; he came down with this bug after riding with me to a meeting, and is so far unable to shake it either.

I also have a "just kidding" hen and so I have started eggs in the bator and am waiting a full three days to see if she stays on the nest or once again, laughs at me from behind her wingtips and says "just kidding".

Who has NOT candled yet? Am I the only lazy?

Buenos Dias Steve! My mother-in-law recommends bean water (the broth off of cooked beans) - apparently it is the Mexican equivalent to American Chicken soup which supposed to be good for what ails you. I also recommend yoghurt - the kind with active cultures in it. It helps get my tummy back on track. Glad to hear you might be getting some fresh air and sunshine - God sends that and we know he is the "giver of good gifts".

OK Caught up again!

I'll be glad when I have time to just sit, read and post.

My maglight Bill bought me last summer is pooping out !

He was so proud of himself for bringing that home and having it work so well.

I have eggs due tomorrow, so hoping to get more BCMs, so wish me luck!
