I dont do anything special. I dont do everything I am supposed to do. I throw the eggs in the bator. Sometimes a genesis, sometimes my Kuhl cabinet. I add about a cup of water the first day. Then, I usually add about 1/2 to 3/4 cup a water twice more... when the humidity gets to 25 or less. Sometimes I forget and the humidity settles at about 20 for a week... sometimes I get carried away and the humidity surges to 60% +. So, basically I do everything wrong. Then, I hatch at high humidity......at LEAST 65% when they start to pip, oftens times up to or above 80%. So there's my "recipe" for hatching maran eggs. Betcha can't duplicate it, lol. (betcha I can't either).

eta: the cup measurements are for the genesis, not the cabinet.

OK now get over here and get these eggs to pip!

I'm losing it. I got a few in the last hatch, but the other 3 eggs are pipped in there and nothing from my FBCMs, so come on over.

I'm with yotetrapper... I've been using the Brinsea ECO 20. Nothing fancy model. I don't even have a therometer or hydrometer, whatever you call it, in there. I just fill the chambers and add water when I remember.

I just got a dickey and same thing, just fill the water tub thing when its dry.

I am now using the Brinsea as a hatcher. On hatch #2 this way. first round hatched 10/12 and now I have 34 in the Brinsea, 2 out and a bunch of pips. Works for me !

And Rathbone... YES I would love to see pics now.

Ok so our GM had some goose eggs on his desk a few weeks back and I asked where he got them and hunted the guy down. Today, he tells me his AGM is incubating them. The AGM asked me what watt my light bulb is. I don't have alight bulb, I have a pre-made incubator. I asked him what temp and humidity he was at. Shrug. Do you have a top on it? Yes. Ok good. Is there any water in there? No. Ok not good, you need to put a cup of water in there. Are you turning them. Yes, about twice a week.

This guy has NO knowledge about what he is doing AT ALL. And you know what? They are developing. Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit.
