Duckles... well that sounds a lot better than what I got caught saying on camera earlier today... lets just say it rhymes with duckles and starts with an "F" as I was trying to save it from accidently being a 4-letter word. I accidentally made it into a just as bad or worse 7-letter word

I was cutting soap and a random tiny little piece of soap flew right into my eye, under the lid and as I tried to get it out and rubbed and flushed with water, I ended up getting several eyelashes in there with it. Its amazing that was the only thing I said... Don't ask why dh was filming me instead of helping? Because I don't know!

AND, in other news... the Broody hatch contest now has 6 official entries. I tried making a display page earlier but the whole forum must have gone down for a few minutes so I will get to that when I can.

My buttered butt is just fine and I still want a biscuit.

Ok I have news. Mr. Yackers died from feline peritonitis - a viral, 100% fatal disease that passes from cat to cat. We cannot have another cat for 12 months. It is what has killed our 3 cats in 18 months. While I am really sad to have lost them all, I am very glad I know what it is, and I won't be getting another cat for a year. Nor will I get a shelter cat. The local shelters are notified monthly that this disease is rampant and not to adopt out cats, yet they continue. I have no faith in our shelters here anymore.

Did I show you this week's broody? NOOOO, I didn't! Is this a great stink eye, or what? This is just after she growled and bit me.

It's tough to lose a furry companion.

It is hard, however, I am REALLY relieved to know the cause. And what not to do. We just kept adopting and they kept dying. Irresponsible of the shelters to say the least.

Want to know what's REALLY messed up about FIP?? If you go to a continuing education veterinary conference, they will tell you that FIP is NOT contagious!!

Even though it's a shelter disease and is rampant in feral cat colonies....I'm sorry, but nobody can tell me that FIP isn't contagious. I got up and walked out of a conference (from the front row) when the veterinarian giving the talk insisted it was not a contagious disease, but genetic.

I'm sorry about Mr. Yackers, but I'm glad you have an answer and don't have to keep going through this over and over.

Well I know which contest I am winning...the worst hatch rate. Of 26 eggs I have 5 going good, 3 questionables and the rest were clear or had bad air cells.
