I just got the best news from a PM. I asked another Utah BYC'er to do a test hatch for me since I have been concerned about my roo's fertility. I gave her 16 eggs and she just reported back that 14 are definitely developing and the other two might be!

I am so happy that I don't have to cull him. He is such a well behaved boy and very handsome (well in my eyes

) I have been so worried I would wind up with a mean roo. Now I can keep Mr. Cogburn!

Mahonri, you can also right click on the image in the thread, copy and paste it in the page maker. I discovered that when doing the contest for this hatch. It is really quick that way!

Well, I opted out of the Easter hatch because we were in the middle of moving & I didn't know what the status would be, but we are having a Good Friday hatch. Went into lockdown late last night, just went and checked the bator & already have our first pip! This has been a bad incubation, and I wasn't sure anybody was gonna hatch. It's a brown mystery egg from gryeyes' mixed flock. Three brown mystery eggs and 1 EE egg from her yard made it to lockdown, as did 2 blue-wheaten ameraucana eggs she shared with me that she got from an auction... I think they came from jeremy in Oakland, if I'm not mistaken. One of those is rockin' back and forth like Ray Charles at the piano.
