Surprise, surprise for ya!
Hope the vertical zipper gets directions corrected here soon ..... must be a male.

Meaning he might have been confused by a female yelling "SLOW DOWN!!!!" and zipped down instead?

Ooooooooooooooooooooooyyyyyy, my back hurts. Been working on a new brooder/broodie hutch to accomodate my order of chicks that came 2 days ago right in time for this big Easter hatch at home...also to avoid pacing by the incubator chanting "Pip!"

It's coming along nicely, but I think I'm done for the night. Need to go get a little more wood for the doors anyhoo.

Here's a progress photo. (My 2 year old is delighted with Mommy's work and has great plans for that hutch. He insisted that the shelves be filled and brought all of his big toys out to the garage.)

Chick update:

#1 Blue Ameraucana split fuzzy
#2 Iowa Blue
#3 Blue Olive Egger (Marans x Ameraucana)

Seriously I've been wondering why people are getting HATCHES on Thursday and Friday. . . . Easter is on Sunday, the least they could do is hatch on Friday night? Or Saturday morning?

In my other few hatches, I've nearly always had a pip around 12 hours early and a chick out late on the 20th day; but nothing like these early chicks. I might be averaging a little warmer temps this time. However, it seems the majority have early hatchers also.
