Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Still only one BR hatched and two pips since several hours ago. I tossed one of my two New Hampshire eggs.

It developed with a huge aircell on the side instead of the top. I had it in the incubator on it's side . I quickly candled it when I removed the BR chick and it has quit. So I have 4 BR eggs left and one New Hampshire. Come on chickies.

In the picture you can see the original air cell on the side and how it stayed on the side as it got bigger.

My hatch is due tomorrow. I am beginning to get a few pips. If I have some extras hatch, I will ship them out to you.

Wait it out on the Barred Rocks. Mine always hatch last..... up to a day late.

tried to catch up, but trying to catch up around here too. Here wins.

Still nothing from my other eggs. The little guy I had to help out and thought was going to die even this morning, is right in there with the others running around.

Juliet is still plastered to her nest behind the plywood next to the fence. Have no idea when those eggs will hatch, but I'm kind of hoping it will be tomorrow. That would be so cool. Plus she's in the dog run and that's where I want my dogs.

Caught my Cane Corso sniffing chicks and wagging her tail and then just walked away, so that's good. Was hoping the nose that's attached to her 115lbs wasn't going to snort them up. But this GSD pup? Not trusting her just yet, but we're working on it. She was really good when we first got her, but the last two times out with the big girls and she started to chase, so I guess I need to get back to the old me and get the training going better. Been to out of it and that's not good. Time to law down the law.

Well I hope I can catch up in the morning...

I had a great day. Wonderful in fact.

Work went well.

Went shopping to Costco w/ dear wife and she always remembers to buy my scratch there.

DS#4 and DS#5 cleaned the juvie pen and mowed the front lawn.

Got my hair cut. Cleaned the pool.

Laree came over and vaccinated all of my chicks and left some that she hatched from my eggs with me. She is the best.

Neighbors west on Osborn came over and got a dozen chicks. Their daughter was excited!

Gave nurseshelly a couple dozen hatching eggs to test out for me.

Rehomed a marans roo.

Fixed Sunday dinner like I always do on Saturday evening, it's in the fridge and ready to go into the oven.

Watched most of "The Ten Commandments" until I fell asleep. I'm tired.

The last little light brown chipmunk may not make it, I'm afraid I'll have to cull it tomorrow. Just can't seem to get up on it's feet and it has rubbed it's hocks red. The other chicks attack it too. They know it's not right.

So, I hope you all have a Blessed Easter Sabbath as we remember that Jesus is resurrected and that He lives.

G'nite everybody.
