Very nice!

wolftracks, with the super low-density wood we have these days, it's best to drill a hole in the wood wherever you want to use a screw. I use deck-screws with a little drill bit that is short with a nub that makes the head of the screw not press apart the wood. It's a 'counter-sink' bit, and you can get a 3-pack with different width bits in them for all of $7 at Home Despot. THAT will stop your split wood.

I had one hatch the 17th......but not in running for contest because I did not even think about getting something with date and time.......only way to do that on mine is by the info showing on flickr that shows date taken & camera used - or it maybe on the info of the photo itself but I am too lazy to find the original and look

Hi, everyone.

Popping in to remind everyone about the recognition awards.

We want to validate the efforts and contributions of our members who give sooo much. This community is special because of the efforts of its members, and we all want to honor that.

NOW: get to nominating, if you haven't already!

Remember, each BYC member may nominate one member each month for each of the three recognition categories: BYC Friend, BYC Educator, and BYC Spirit. That's three nominations each month, and we want to see more submissions!

Use the Nomination Submission Form to make your suggestions.

Thanks!

Yeah well.............I have issues these days. I got out the drill Bill bought 2 days before her died. He was going to build my coops and do work on the house. I don't know how I did it, but I wore the inside down and jammed it. I wasn't being heavy handed either. I pulled out his older drill and it froze up in the middle of the second hole. Guess that's why he bought the new one. He had said the other wasn't long for this world. How ironic!

I just can't afford even a cheap drill right now, so I'm stymied here! I need pens. Oh and I did make one run from PVC.................O M G !!!! Glue didn't hold and when I set it in the frame and tried to hoop it it all came out on one side, sooooo I have this A shaped piece of junk in my yard right now.

I use tiny drills and dremels for jewelry and I've build cabinets and tables and all kinds of stuff, but I'm coop impaired

I would like to thank everyone who is sending me eggs i really appreciate it the kids are going to have fun watching them hatch. i have one question how do i separate the different breeds in my incubator so i can keep up with which ones are which so i can post pictures and give the right names for each one. i have a hovabator

What all are you getting?

I can tell you the ones from me should be black, blue, or yellow (splash) with a yellow spot on the tops of their heads as all my cuckoos have had. You will certainly be able to tell when they feather out that first week with the barred wing feathers. Differentiating the easter eggers from the Marans, the Marans will have single combs (you can see the teeny points of the single comb even right out of the egg) and feathers on the lateral sides of their legs. The Ameraucana/Marans crosses for this first generation should have pea combs, muffs and beards, and be clean legged. What I've hatched so far have followed those observations.
