it seems like it can not get any rest at all it does it in its sleep and it little head bobs up and down he or she is a solid silver silkie do not know what color it would be labled but igot 2 of them . will it be ok with it making that noise sounds like it is having trouble breething and when i pick it up it gets excited and the noise gets louder

Well I set 32 eggs and 24 hatched, some of those eggs were so dark that I could not see into them until tonight when i candled, it looks as though the chicks in the dark eggs died the day before lockdown! One other egg pipped but never zipped, and the rest There is no explanation as to why they died until I do an Eggtopsy tomorrow. I can tell they are dead by that distinct coppery smell before total rot and that i could literally see the chicks in the white eggs no movement at all. I am guessing that the chick who pipped probably got shrink wrapped when I had to open the bator to take out the chicks who were completely dry, had been in for more then 24 hrs and were too hot because of the temp increase.
If I break it down into bantam and standard hatch rates I would get:

Standard 14 Of 20 = 70% Hatch Rate
Bantam 10 Of 12 = 83% Hatch Rate

Bantam + Standard 24 of 32 = 75% Hatch Rate

I also discovered while checking out chicks that 2 of the black chicks with white spots one their head have feathered legs and all 4 toes feathered which means their momma is my white cochin hen, the only other hen I have in that pen that has feathered legs is my Salmon fav and I only hatched out one of those her babies are yellow with black chipmunk stripes, 5 toes and feathered legs with very little feathering on the toes. as it stands for the EE Roo over Barred Rock hen being sexlink In previous hatches I hatched out 3 pure black chicks and 4 pure black chicks, this hatch I have 2 that need to fluff more with one with a possible head spot.
EE/ Speckled Sussex on the left. EE/EE on the Right. first standard chick and the last standard chick to hatch were the most curious about the camera.

I'm Ready for my close up!

All the chicks with stripes and eyeliner come from my EE Roo over speckled sussex and EE hen breedings, can you tell which chick belongs to which mom?

wow this thread has slowed down a ton.

Pulled all the rest of my eggs out of the LG. Most died fully formed with unabsorbed yolk and airsacs that took up 3/4 of the egg. And one died perfect but I don't think it could lift its head to internally pip because the air cell also took up most of the egg. These were the ones with weird air cells that took up majority of the egg since about day 10. I wonder if theres a way to incubate them with extra humidity so the air cells don't get all crazy.

But, the hovabator eggs...rocking and chirping! Woo-hoo! i'm not done yet. Oh and for sure, no other seramas. I think i might try to brood them with the polish but them polish are feisty wild little things and are still much bigger than the serama. The serama is the size of my thumb. I love it so much. Should I just raise it as a singleton and keep it with me most of the time? Or are the polish gonna be ok?
