Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

hi everyone looks like i will not be done hatching anytime soon i did a float test on the remaining eggs today i have wiggles lots of wiggles also when i picked one up luckly i heard it chirp at me so i was like ok crud did i just hurt this chick by opening it up and taking it out of incubator and did i hurt any other ones that i float tested so i quickly went to out in back in the incubator and as soon as i went to put it down it piped right in my hand i liked to pass out it kind of scared me a little lol luckly i did not drop it got it back in. The hummidity was still in the high 60's when i shut the lid

Do you always hatch with humidity that high? The reason I ask is because every time my humidity goes much above 60% I always start having problems.

I was too polite to ask about the poo, I was thinking broody poo but that stinks so bad - it would have been cleaned up fast. Got "poo" on my mind 'cause everyone was asking about it but, got no reply. Went out to check some plants for frost damage and nearly got poo on my shoe thanks to the neighbors who must think it looks better by my house than theirs.Think I got jinxed from seeing the poo picture . Oh poo

Oh yes, I can relate to others doggy poo on my yard. No fair. My doggies are not going on anyone elses lawn. :( Nor do my chickens for that matter! Nor do anyone elses chickens for that matter..just pups..they like my trees on the side and my mail box post too. double :(

That had to be weird for sure. I am guessing, you are going to have more chicks!! Should be fine. :)

Son went in to get his Wisdom teeth out. He wasn't bleeding when he left. Now he's bleeding more..hmm, guess this is normal for a while after. He is getting sore. We refused Percocet. He gets sick easy. Went with Tramodol..something like that.

I have to post my fav. little chick at this point. She is stealing my heart. I never knew I would like the Silkie. But oh my goodness.
Please, be a girl!

Just turned in my final hatch count. 45 eggs set.... 11 chicks hatched.

Not bad for my first time. Only a week left until I put my next batch into the hatcher lol... I've got it bad.

yes i always hatch that high never had a problem always have good hatches except once just can not believe i have eggs pipping still i figured i was done till the one piped in my hand

Ok here's the pic of the final count. There are three chicks in the pic that are crippled and you can't see one, but this is the best pic I could get.

And here's my cutest chick entry. I couldn't decide between them.

Now, I'm off to make Wild Blackberry Turnovers.

Excuse me, please. At least I wasn't the only one (and I was in good company!)

Well I just remembered I forgot to take pics of my chicks.... Too bad I sold 6 and 1 died or I would go take a pic now. Oh well, I'm not going to win anything anyways lol.
