I was basically just given permission to do the March Egg Swap, but the problem is I'm too broke to ship eggs.
I also failed to explain to him that there was no telling what we'd end up with.
He's so desperate for more games but he doesn't want any more of our's to hatch. He wants to add a new line to our Jumper/Kelsos. I feel for him, I just want more chickens!
I tried the multi qoute on the laptop and the iPad with no joy But yes, I have a gorgeous bunch of buff silkie eggs cooking I made a crustless quiche for breakfast, DD#2 is home this week and her BFF spent the night. A mommy moose with yearling calf browsed through the front yard just before breakfast was served for our entertainment and amusement Now DH and I are headed to the barn to get som work done. I'll be posting pics of our progress on my barn thread later.
There's going to be a public art installation in my town (Lawrence) where they'll have 5 hens downtown in parks and whatnot for 3 weeks, then a public slaughter, then a potluck with them the next day. I'm conflicted.
It's not a small town (100K) It's a college town (Kansas Jayhawks) We have a lovely walking downtown with historic buildings and street musicians and occasionally buskers.
Weird. I would not call that art, I would call it,... Um... Farming. It will be funny afterwards, when people go to eat lunch in the park and step in a pile of chicken poo!

Pastrymama and I went on a road trip so she could buy some Basque chicks. It was a drive, but when we got there, I actually RECOGNIZED some of the chickens running around from last week's show. I was in the presence of STARS
Longish story short, the lady was superduperduper nice and sold me a mixed batch 18 eggs for $20. There were BBS Ameracunas, BBS Orpingtons, BW OEGBs, and other things I have already forgotten. I just finished setting them in the incubator. WOOOT!
I got to scratch this little lady and her sisters.
