I'm contributing eggs for a local school to hatch for Easter.. they'll be either a couple days early or late so the kids are there to see them but technically they are part of this hatch.. so really you only need 12 more.. Put Lighthouse Montessori down as a participant.

If you want yellow fluffy chicks, look for adults that are white. Some other adult colors can be born yellow (like Wheaten) but most solid yellow chicks come from white parents. If you aren't planning on keeping them anyway, leghorns might be a good choice since the hens are such good layers, white plymouth rocks would be a good choice if meat birds sell well in your area.

So that is how they do it.

That picture was taken in the Middle East, and the also had colored bunnies available. They also sell what I concider the #1 villian to my flock.

How do they do this? i know they inject dye in the egg somehow,.........? I want to do this for the hatch along, because when all the kids and family come over on easter, they will be able to see colorfull chicks. Can you tell me how and what I need to do this? PM if you can...

ok so on this same technicality would the class i am donating my incubator to (and being a guest speaker to) be considered hatch participant as well? we are setting on the 21st to allow the majority of eggs to be hatched mid week (dont want poor chicks alone over the weekends) if so count me in!
