I'm wishing I were in Maine just about now....

You and me both. I'm just having a protein shake. Sure could use a brownie to go with it. LOL. =)

Got a surprise call from the UPS Store where I keep my mailing address - "Linda, your chicks are here. please come get them because their chirping is going to make me crazy."

Uhhh..... I was "watching TV" in my sofa recliner and the cat was sleeping on my phone.... I retrieved that message almost 2 hours later. It's my "negotiated" day off (replacing the Monday I had to work this week for a special, HUGE project implementation), so I'm at home, NOT expecting chicks at all.

So I called back to say I was an hour and a half away and on my way. And I was! Despite the fact The Storm has arrived.

Now, my personal opinion of The Storm is huh? The news was all upset about this? Granted, I am below the snow line, but it's just wind and rain, folks. I've driven in worse when I first bought the house, during the surprise May snowstorm which was just rain at the altitude where I drive. NASTY rain, that was. This one? Wuss.

Although there was some sleet on the drive back... I had a stop first; I gave six of the fourteen chicks to HHandbasket. Then I zipped home and put my 8 chicks in with the Silkie chicks in the brooder.....

I'll be back later, just wanted to catch up with some substance this time!

Nah, instead of angry outbursts I decided to make double fudge brownies instead and calm down.

Double fudge brownies make everything better.

Double fudge brownies make me realize that paying 500$ a year for 15 years to NOT be married to him is worth it.

To those going/been through divorce, this is the reason why at the young age of 22 I've decided that I'm going to be a crazy chicken lady.

ETA: I wanted to add that we've had some slightly rainy, but warm weather today. Gypsy skirt and tank top for me today.
