I've been lurking in this thread for weeks now and finally decided to take the plunge. I just bought some turkey eggs to start with. Hopefully they'll be here by the 10th!

Hi everyone, I just joined the hatch. Now to locate some eggs close by local. I do have some of my own but want some variety.

OMG I am caught up again. Love the numbered egg! Very cool. I should try that. With my astigmatism, mine would swirl up and down. Not so pretty. I can't write in a stright line unless I have ruled paper. What a loser!

I hatched out two cream legbars last night. one female, one male! So cute! Isbars are hatching today and more cream legbars on Monday.



Thanks for the info about raising chicks with turkeys. I have poults on order from Porter's. If I have enough notice on shipping date I will either hatch a couple o chicks or buy a couple from the feed store.

What would we do with BYC and all the great information?

Finally caught up!! My LO pullets are finally laying

and one other girl that I am not sure who it is yet so looks like I will be hatching some LO, possible LO/x or Black split to Lavender Orps for the Hatchalong

java girl love the Scottie with the snowballs stuck to him/her. My dogs get them all over them and when they come in they leave puddles on the floor where they pulled the snowballs off.

We got a little more snow last night but it should melt by Sunday. Still keeping my fingers crossed that my turkey hen starts laying in time but pretty much expecting that she won't. I know someone suggested getting lights out to the coop (I apologize for forgetting who suggested it) but that won't work for her. The turkeys only go into the coop at night when the weather is the worst. Most of the time they roost on the top of one of my smaller coops so I wouldn't have a way to light up the whole pen. My chickens are finally really starting to lay again. I will be setting some of Renee's Konza eggs and some of my mixes. Not sure how many yet but it should be at least 24.
